What Is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder and mental disorder that affects the brain and behavior of the person who suffers from it. OCD involves obsessions and compulsions.

The obsessions are negative or intrusive thoughts, images or impulses that repetitively occur and feel out of control. These thoughts are often accompanied by fear, worry and anxiety.

The compulsions are repetitive behaviors or thoughts are done to neutralize or make the obsessions go away.

Those who suffer from OCD also generally recognize that their obsessions and compulsions are irrational. They also can suffer very severely mentally, emotionally, financially and in their relationships.

In conventional modern medicine, there is no cure for OCD. Treatments include therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to manage this disorder and medication.

For myself, I suffered from negative, obsessive thoughts, fears, worries, and anxieties that caused me to count and touch things in the number of four or a multiple of four to temporary relieve me of my suffering. I also found that over time my heart closed to many people as I felt powerless, angry and stuck.

To be completely healed of OCD is beyond a dream come true. I cannot thank Master Sha, the Divine, the Tao and the Source enough for the gift of soul healing and divine soul healing. You can read more about my soul healing process in my book, How I Healed My Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

To learn more about OCD, I suggest you read the web sites of International Classification of Diseases (ICD), International OCD Foundation and Wikipedia.

  1. Dear Master David,
Do you have any suggestions for helping a high school student who suffers from OCD and has difficulty completing homework assignments?

    1. Dear Christine,

I recommend that this student read my book so they truly know that one can self-heal OCD. The practices in this book can also help anyone begin to use the power of soul to self-heal OCD and any condition. The 01777-908-01777-92244 practice in Dr. and Master Zhi Gang Sha's "Soul Mind Body Medicine" book would be good as well.

  2. Thank you, Master David. I will pass on these recommendations. I enjoy the practice for connecting the left and right brain, and have used it with children with learning difficulties. Perhaps, doing this practice, could help prevent OCD .
